Each year LIBTA recognizes an outstanding member who has positively influenced Business Education. Criteria may include such factors as interest and enthusiasm for the education of students, improving and expanding the Business Education program and active business involvement at the local, state or national levels.

Who can make a nomination?

  • Building Administrators
  • College Deans
  • Business Department Chairpersons/Lead Teachers
  • LIBTA Members

**All nominations must come from a teacher/dean/administrator who works in your district**

Nomination Qualifications:

Any business educator who is a member of LIBTA for the current school year is eligible.

Application Procedure:

  1. Write a letter nominating a business educator. Include any factors which you feel are relevant including, but not limited to, classroom excellence you may have observed, extracurricular involvement, professional activities, devotion to students and/or education, overall attitude, etc. Your nomination is sufficient; however, if you wish to include additional recommendations, please limit them to no more than three.

2. Letters must be postmarked by April 16, 2009. Please send to:

The decision will be made by the LIBTA board and announced at the Awards Luncheon on May 19, 2010, at NYIT. You will be notified if your nominee is selected as the recipient.
