will also be considered for the Publishers’ Scholarship
The amount of the
Ellen Caskey Scholarship for 2009 will be $1000. The Publishers’ Scholarship
Awards will be for $500 each. Selection of the winners will be
based on the following criteria:
- One of the members of your Business Department must be a current
member of LIBTA.
- The Business Department may submit ONE candidate from the graduating
class of 2009. The candidate must have maintained at lest a 90
average on a minimum of three business credits (not necessarily
a three-year sequence).
- The winner must send a paid receipt for the tuition from the
college or business school enrolled. The winner of the Ellen Caskey
Scholarship will be sent a check for $1,000 by the end of the October
2009. The winners of Publishers’ Scholarship Awards will
receive a check for $500 by the end of October 2009.
- The decision of the Scholarship Committee shall be final and
all materials presented to the committee shall become the property
of LIBTA. In the event of a tie, the LIBTA president will make
the final decision. In the event that a deserving student is not
nominated, the Committee reserves the right to withdraw the presentation
of an award.
PLEASE NOTE:
Schools have various ways of evaluating students and reporting grades.
To assist the committee in selecting a scholarship winner, please
note the following:
- All averages on the application must be stated in numbers based
on one credit per full year course and highest possible grade of
100%
- The transcript should include the courses taken in Semester 1
with his/her grades indicated and list the student’s current
courses. A copy of a recent report card MUST accompany the transcript
to bring the record up to date.
- Please highlight all business courses on the
official transcript.
